Obsession Alert: Luxe Skirts!

Sooooo as much as I would like to just dive into this post with no acknowledgment of my entirely too long leave of absence, I feel the need to say a BIG sorry to anyone who actually reads my blog and has missed me:( If I could, I would give you a big hug and a pile of diamonds to make up for it!

But now that y'all are happy again, let's get this started,ok? Ok :)

I've been super into the baroque, kinda medieval glam trend lately. Read: I've always wanted to be a  princess, so this felt like a modern way to accomplish that (now if only I could find a way to bring my tiara into this...). Also, it feels very Queen Cersei from Game of Thrones,aka the best show ever, and I lurrrrrv me some GOT.

So I bought this skirt from Forever21 about a month ago, and ok, if I wore this out in my neck of the woods right now, it really wouldn't make sense seeing as how it's velvet, so I'm waiting until November when it gets a bit chillier.

Honestly, there are a bunch of ways you could wear this skirt. You could wear a sequin collared top for a girlier take, or a knit pullover for a more downtown vibe.

1)Game of Thrones is the best show ever. Aside from New Girl, The Mindy Project, and Teen Wolf.(That was terrible, but forreal watch Season 3, March 31!)

3)P!nk- Truth About Love(P!nk is every girl's champion. Trust me on this one.) "Slut Like You", no contest. I mean, the whole album is good but you can't beat her little rap towards the end.

Style Olympics

So I mentioned earlier that there's been a ton of Olympic nail art bouncing around and showed y'all a few examples and even tried my own. Apparently, there's been a nail salon put up in the Olympic Village called Nail Porn. Sounds like my kinda place. Here are a few more manis that aren't strictly USA themed

I was also telling you about the girl with the Old Glory sweater on and it kinda inspired me to find some more patriotic themed pieces.

 Ok so maybe these shorts don't exactly scream "USA!" but they're a good "Go for the Gold" reminder. Ok I love sparkles.

ohhh, Summer.

Today was my open house, and with every second I spent there, I became a bit more annoyed. If you've forgotten what open house is like let me refresh your memory: it's basically just a bunch of sweaty,confused, and anxious teenagers with their parents. Which is pretty similar to what school is actually like, but without the parents to corral them in. Fun,right? I really just don't know what to do with myself now that the twins have moved to Minnesota. I have Victoria, muh bestieee<3 but she'll be gone for half the day. But enough of my moping! We've got one more weekend for a beach trip. You know who's been doing beach style really well lately? Rihanna. I'm not really on the same page as Rihanna when it comes to style, but honestly, she's been wowing me with these vacation outfits

I think my favorite is the white Oscar de la Renta one-piece and what really makes it is the red lipstick. It's so Hollywood glamour.
So I planned out a little weekend getaway in my head and it includes

Off With a Bang!

So my intention was to start a blog chronicling my summer. It is July 23 and I am writing my first post. Ok ,yes, I am a procrastinator. Like a pro.  BUT I'm finally doing it, y'all! And to start things off with a bang(hence the title) I'm going to cover the Teen Choice Awards(yayyyyy!) but don't get too excited. By "covering" I of course mean reviewing it from my laptop. Best dressed, worst dressed, and memorable moments. Aaaaaand here we go!

Best Dressed

My personal favorite of the night was Crystal Reed. While I'll admit I might be a tad biased(Teen Wolf is an extreme obsession of mine) I'm a sucker for a LWD and anything sparkly. Put the two together and BOOM! you can do no wrong in my book. Oh,and hello, it's Marchesa.

But I also loved these girls

 Selly G! Selena pretty much always gets it right and last night was no exception. Happy late birthday!

 It's cool girl perfection. Cavalli blazer and those pants are to-die.

 Again, the LWD. Tay usually gives us a little sparkle,but the simplicity was nice.

 Ahhh, the Jenner girls. Their sisters are total fashion icons, so it's really no surprise. After all, they learned from the best.

 Holland Roden. Again, the Teen Wolf bias. But come onnnnn. On and off-screen she puts me in a state of perpetual outfit lust. And last night was no different.


Worst dressed:
(Side note, I really hate when they do this on Fashion Police,it's so mean. I'll make this quick and easy,something we can all agree on)

Kevin McHale. Confession: when they did that NLT montage it took me back. Yes, I have NLT on my Ipod. I actually really like boybands(more on that later) so it's a given that I really like Kevin M. And I absolutely applaud him for taking a fashion  risk,because that's rare for guys. That said, what is going on here? I'm pretty sure the only guy the printed pants trend works on is Bieber, and even then it can get kind of iffy. Sorry.


Memorable Moments:

 Demi Lovato's ponytail. Ok,yeah. Go for it,girl. Whip your hair back and forth!

 Look Teen Wolf for the 3rd time in my first post! Can you tell how much I love it? Anyway, the Vampire vs. Werewolves debate. Um,hello. WEREWOLVES. Yayyyyyy Team Posey!

 Another obsession,the resurgence of the boy band. Especially One Direction. But more specifically Harry Styles. In a hat. Swoon. Loved this bit! The guys are so hilarious!

 

 SOPHIA GRACE AND ROSIE! Show me someone who doesn't love these girls and I'll show you a liar! I will never tire of their tutus and tiaras. In fact, as I recall, it's all I wore when I was their age. And I still wear my tiara sometimes around the house.

A few things about the Twilight moments. First: ROB AND KRISTIN CAME OUT HOLDING HANDS. I know there's been speculation about them as a couple since the first movie and that it's been confirmed but this really did it for me.It was just sooo good. Second: Not sure how I feel about TL's facial hair... Third: We all just need to accept that this is as good as their acceptance speeches are going to get. Don't get me wrong,I love Twilight. But seriously you guys. You know you're going to win. Be prepared. And last but not least: Wow. Over 40 TCAs? Whoaaaaa.
